OpenAI's services, including ChatGPT, Sora, and its API, experienced a significant outage on Thursday, lasting over four hours, starting at 11 a.m. PT. The outage was attributed to an issue with one of OpenAI's upstream providers, with partial recovery for ChatGPT reported by 2:05 p.m. PT and Sora becoming operational again at 3:16 p.m. PT. OpenAI is actively working on a full resolution and acknowledged that users may still encounter issues like missing chat history. This marks the second major outage in December, with a previous six-hour disruption caused by a telemetry service failure.
