British man Andrew Searle was last seen on CCTV entering a tobacconist in Villefranche de Rouergue just before 6pm on Wednesday, appearing happy and relaxed as he bought chocolate and lottery tickets. He then returned to his car, where his wife, Dawn, was waiting, before they were both found dead less than 24 hours later in their French home. A tracking device around his neck, used for their hunting dogs, was recovered at the scene and taken for DNA testing by police investigating their violent deaths. Shopkeeper Isabelle Palazy, who served Mr. Searle regularly, was shocked by the news, recalling how cheerful he seemed that evening.
