Deloitte responded to claims by the Brain Cipher ransomware group, which alleged stealing over 1 terabyte of compressed data linked to the company. The group, known for targeting various industries with LockBit-based ransomware, has threatened to release the files in five days unless a ransom is paid. Deloitte stated that the breach pertains to a single client’s system outside its network, and no internal systems have been affected. Brain Cipher, active since April 2024, gained notoriety after disrupting critical services in Indonesia and has since attacked sectors such as healthcare, education, and manufacturing.
