Two major data breaches have impacted hundreds of thousands of individuals at Asheville Eye Associates and Delta County Memorial Hospital District. Asheville Eye Associates disclosed that names, addresses, medical treatment details, and health insurance information of 193,306 patients were compromised, though financial data and Social Security numbers were not affected. The DragonForce ransomware group claimed responsibility for stealing large amounts of data from the North Carolina-based eye care center in December 2024. Meanwhile, Delta County Memorial Hospital reported to the Maine Attorney General’s Office that 148,363 individuals had their personal and financial information exposed in a May 2024 cyberattack.
