Jay-Z's Marcy Venture Partners has merged with Pendulum Holdings' investment arm, Pendulum Opportunities, to form MarcyPen Capital Partners, managing $900 million in assets, as confirmed by a spokesperson to TechCrunch. The merger, finalized around September according to filings, combines the strengths of both Black-owned investment firms. MarcyPen is actively fundraising, continuing Pendulum Opportunities' efforts under the name MarcyPen Opportunities Fund II, with over $100 million already secured toward a $250 million goal. Founded in 2018 by Jay-Z, Jay Brown, and Larry Marcus, Marcy Venture Partners has supported companies like Savage x Fenty and Spatial Labs.
