Wildfires in Pacific Palisades and other areas of Southern California have caused significant disruptions, including the shutdown of Hollywood productions and cancellations of major events. The Critics Choice Awards, originally planned for this Sunday in Santa Monica, have been postponed to January 26 due to the devastation. Several other events, including the BAFTA Tea Party, AFI Awards luncheon, and in-person SAG Awards nominations, have been cancelled or rescheduled. The fires, which have destroyed over 1,000 structures and burned more than 5,000 acres, have also led to the halt of more than a dozen TV productions and late-night shows in Los Angeles. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has extended the Oscars voting timeline to accommodate members impacted by the fires. Continue here.
