On the first day of Pwn2Own Automotive 2025, $382,750 was awarded for 16 zero-day vulnerabilities in car infotainment systems, EV chargers, and automotive operating systems. The highest payouts, $50,000 each, went to exploits targeting Autel and Ubiquiti EV chargers, while significant rewards were also earned for vulnerabilities in Phoenix Contact ($41,750) and ChargePoint chargers ($47,500). An exploit involving Automotive Grade Linux garnered $33,500, and hacks on Alpine, Kenwood, and Sony infotainment systems earned $20,000 collectively. While nearly two dozen more attempts are scheduled over the next two days, no attempts will target Tesla vehicles, which could have earned participants a car and up to $500,000.
