The UK telecommunications company TalkTalk has confirmed a data breach involving a third-party supplier’s platform after a threat actor, ‘b0nd,’ claimed to have stolen information on 18.8 million customers. TalkTalk has stated that the actual number of affected customers is significantly overstated and is working with the third-party supplier to investigate the incident. Screenshots shared by the attacker suggest the stolen data may have come from CSG’s Ascendon platform, though CSG denies its systems were directly compromised. The breach appears to have resulted from compromised login credentials, but the exact number of affected individuals remains unclear. This marks another cybersecurity incident for TalkTalk, which previously suffered a major data breach in 2015. Continue here.
