Dara Khosrowshahi has resigned from the board of autonomous vehicle technology company Aurora Innovation to focus on his role as Uber CEO and reduce external board commitments, according to a regulatory filing. His resignation, effective Tuesday, was not due to any disagreement with Aurora. Khosrowshahi joined Aurora’s board in 2020 when Uber sold its self-driving unit, Uber ATG, to Aurora, gaining a 26% stake in the company as part of the deal. Despite his departure, Uber maintains a strong connection with Aurora through a multi-year collaboration integrating Aurora-powered trucks into the Uber Freight network. Shailen Bhatt, senior vice president and COO at AtkinsRéalis, will replace Khosrowshahi on Aurora’s board, as the company also manages other leadership changes, including the upcoming departure of its general counsel.
